Yes. All hotels proposed by Global Medical Care have been personally visited by our team and assessed against our accommodation standards prior to being included in our network.
We have created a curated pool of hotels to ensure we can provide suitable accommodation at attractive pre-set prices whenever you need it. Yes, you can. However, if you arrange your procedure independently, you will not:
- Benefit from Global Medical Care’s negotiating power — with the risk of paying more for a lower standard of service.
- Have a Swiss company supporting you, managing all travel and logistical arrangements, and defending your rights should any issues arise.
- Have the peace of mind that comes from working with a dedicated coordinator, removing the need to independently research and evaluate doctors and medical establishments.
- For Swiss Clients: Benefit from Swiss income tax advantages, as payment would be made outside Switzerland.
When you register with GMC, and before scheduling your treatment, you will be asked to upload key medical reports to our secure Global Medical Care Tele-Medicine System. These files will be shared with your partner surgeons, who will assess your pre-suitability for the treatment. This means you can receive your surgeon’s initial medical evaluation before commencing your journey.
All GMC package payments have to be made in Switzerland before your journey starts unless otherwise is agreed. This will eliminate your need to carry any money with you while traveling and is needed to benefit from tax advantages (Clients from CH only). You may pay via bank transfer, QR slip (CH only), or credit card.
Global Medical Care has a local client support team in all destination countries, available by phone. They can assist with any questions or issues relating to travel, transfers, accommodation, or your partner clinic.
In some rare cases, when your doctor will examine you before the operation, he/she may ask for some additional tests or advice to undergo a different operation before your scheduled one. In such cases, if you want to make additions to your package, extra costs may occur. You will be asked to pay them separately.
There will be a small additional cost to your packages due to the higher hotel and transfer costs.

Yes. If the Client cancels, GMC may retain an amount equal to the costs it has actually incurred on the Client’s behalf (such as reservations, examinations, transfers and non-recoverable third-party charges). As a genuine pre-estimate of those costs at each stage, the following may be retained:
- cancellation 30 days or more before treatment: up to 10% of the package price;
- cancellation 3–29 days before treatment: up to 30% of the package price;
- cancellation 0–2 days before treatment: up to 50% of the package price.
If you are living in Switzerland, in most of the Swiss cantons, you can. Consult your tax adviser for precise information and conditions relating to such deductions.
Yes, you can. You can pay all our packages up to 24 installments. You are free to choose the number of installments and pay each installment via bank transfer, QR slip, or credit card. In this case, we will plan your travel when all installments are paid.
This depends on your health insurance. However, most insurance companies do not cover these treatments, as they are not viewed as essential.

The GMC team systematically evaluates options across Europe to identify the most competitive price-to-quality ratio, without compromising on treatment standards. Selections are made on the following basis:
- Country selection: GMC selects countries where the cost of living and services is lower than in Europe. We target countries with a cost of living index of 60 or below, based on OECD studies. This ensures that all professionals involved in your care — your surgeon, other healthcare staff, and support personnel — are well compensated relative to their country of residence, while remaining significantly more cost-effective than equivalent services in Europe. Lower local operating costs, including rent, are also reflected in the pricing.
- Hospital selection: GMC works exclusively with hospitals complying with national health quality standards (i.e. SKS); if possible, hold international accreditation (e.g. JCI) in major metropolitan areas. As these hospitals serve a high volume of clients from around the world, they invest in the latest medical technologies while maintaining competitive and transparent pricing.
- Extensive negotiation: Due to the scale of GMC’s network, we are able to negotiate highly competitive rates and favourable add-ons — such as complimentary hotel-to-hospital transfers and extended aftercare arrangements — while upholding robust client rights, including the right to request a change of doctor.
The result of this pan-European selection process is access to high-quality care at significantly more affordable rates than in your country of residence.

Global Medical Care
Savings vary depending on the procedure and individual circumstances. Clients accessing treatment through Global Medical Care typically report savings compared to equivalent treatment costs in Europe, with comparisons ranging from 40 to 80% depending on the procedure selected. Individual savings will depend on the specific treatment, package chosen, and country of residence.
This is one of the most important considerations when exploring treatment abroad. Any medical procedure, regardless of where it is carried out, carries an inherent degree of risk. Global Medical Care applies the following criteria when selecting partner hospitals and the surgeons within their network:
- Comply with national health quality standards (i.e. SKS); if possible, hold international accreditation (e.g. JCI)
- Track record of quality service and client testimonials
- Track record of medical staff
- Qualities of your facilitator
That is why Global Medical Care connects clients with internationally accredited partner hospitals and experienced partner surgeons — giving you access to a network from which you can make an informed choice.

- Track record of quality service, patient testimonials
