The popularity of beard transplant surgery has steadily increased in recent years. This procedure is ideal for men who want a denser or more voluminous beard, mustache, sideburns, or goatee. This plastic surgery treatment employs many of the same techniques as other hair transplant procedures, with follicular unit extraction being the most common (FUE).

A facial hair transplant is a permanent solution and can be done for both cosmetic and medical reasons, but it is less common than a standard hair transplant treatment.

Global Medical Care can help you whether you need beard transplant surgery for medical reasons or just want to rock a masculine looking stubble. We’ve provided a quick overview of how it works, as well as some options for treatment abroad, below.

Let’s start by explaining what a beard transplant is… Beard transplant surgery, like traditional hair restoration treatments, involves the transplantation of existing hairs from one part of the body — known as the recipient site — to a bald or thinning area — known as the donor site. If done correctly, this treatment has the potential to permanently restore previously lost hair. It’s also minimally invasive and usually performed as an outpatient procedure, which means patients can go home the same day and the recovery time is superfast.

There are a few different methods for beard restoration surgery, just like there are for other types of hair transplants. Follicular units extraction (FUE) technique is the most popular option, but there are other viable options, such as follicular unit transplantation (FUT), direct hair implant (DHI, where the graft is placed on the recipient area with choi implanters, unlike the FUT method, the DHI method leaves scarring behind) and platelet-rich plasma treatment (PRP). You will discuss these options with your doctor and personal consultant to determine which is best for you. This will be determined by a number of factors, including your overall health and your treatment expectations, along with the thickness i.e. the density of your donor area.

Your surgeon will need to evaluate the consistency of the hair in your recipient area and match it to an area of your body that could be used as a suitable donor site before performing a beard transplant. This will help to achieve the most natural-looking results, and hair may be extracted from your head, chest, armpits, or other areas, it all depends on which’d give the most appropriate result.

When it comes to the 4in1 FUE method, the procedure entails harvesting groups of hair follicles — known as grafts — from the donor site one by one. These are then placed in a special solution to keep them alive. After all the grafts have been extracted, they are implanted in the recipient site to create the desired result. Overall, the procedure takes between 4 and 8 hours, depending on the number of grafts transplanted.

After a beard transplant surgery, patients usually return to work and resume their normal activities within 2-3 days. It’s normal to experience some pressure, swelling and redness in both your donor and recipient areas for the first few weeks, but you should start to see some early signs of growth after about three months. In most cases, the final results take 12 months to appear; however, it is not uncommon for the final results to take up to 18 months to appear. So depending on the person we can say that the hair tissue grows in between 4-18 months

As previously stated, beard restoration can be done for both cosmetic and medical reasons. The former is the most common reason a candidate chooses to have this procedure, as it allows them to grow or regain natural-looking hair in their beard area while also addressing a patchy look.

A facial hair transplant, on the other hand, is a viable option for patients seeking concealment in the beard area. The procedure can be used to conceal birthmarks, scars or acne, as well as to address issues related to genetics, surgery wound, or previous injuries.

In the UK, any type of hair transplant surgery can be quite costly, with average prices hovering around €10,000. As a result, an increasing number of patients have chosen to travel abroad for treatment in recent years.

Beard transplants in Turkey are one of the most popular options for men all over the world. The country has a number of highly experienced hair transplant surgeons as well as high-quality facilities. A beard transplant in Turkey can cost as little as €1,590, demonstrating the substantial savings that can be made by traveling abroad.

Lower costs do not have to imply lower quality.
